I am a single, white, Gen-x female that has NEVER voted Republican, even WHEN married. All of the pundits claiming all white females over the age of 45 vote R are DEAD WRONG.

@JLordanKelly OMG, I don't know how anyone can believe this. Do they live in a cave?

@EloiseHamann Iโ€™ve seen it broken down on numerous news programs, itโ€™s so stupid. I am a child of The Summer of Love, my father lucky to not have been drafted for Vietnam, my mother not allowed to have a line of credit in her own name until I was 5, and witness to the destruction of the middle class started by Ronnie Raygun. Of COURSE I wouldnโ€™t ever vote for a Republican !

@JLordanKelly @EloiseHamann weโ€™re the punk generation - do they know nothing? Weโ€™ve been a voiceless audience to the destructiveness of the boomer generation, itโ€™s why we originally rebelled (well, me anyway - punk was political at its core).
Jared Yates Sexton chronicles our time in โ€˜American Ruleโ€™ perfectly.

@JLordanKelly I'm 61. Late Boomer. I have only voted Republican once. In the early 90s. Governer of Illinois. Edgar. He was a good governor. Most of my female friends, vote DEM. Married and unmarried. Regardless of age.

@JLordanKelly Early GenX here and I've always voted Dem. The Repubs want to destroy everything we've gained and I refuse to let them

@JLordanKelly I am exactly the same demographic. Never voted R in my life.

@JLordanKelly Also GenX and I have been voting dem for thirty years. I will never, ever vote for a republican because even before maniacal mango I never liked them. Happens when you grow up in the Reagan years when there were so many promises and then coming of age in the 90โ€™s you run face first into a recession. Then they called us โ€œslackersโ€, right.

I think GenX has more in common with GenZ than both gens realize.

@JLordanKelly

Both generations are smaller than the ones that came before them and are fighting to be recognized. With Gen X, we are lucky if we show up on a graph slapped between the boomers and the millennials like an afterthought. GenZ are fighting for their future like we did in the 90โ€™s with Rock the Vote. Happy to see that the GOP is so terrified of GenZ as to suggest ratifying the 26th amendment. They should be afraid, very afraid.

@JLordanKelly the only republican I ever voted for was McCain one time and I am in my 50s.

@JLordanKelly I am over 60. I used to sometimes but Republican before the tea party came along and started the crazy. I am now true blue. I frequently say my views have not changed. The republicans did.

@JLordanKelly 67 here. Never have I ever voted for those asswipes. TRUE BLUE DEM.
