If you are posting a link from Twitter… consider posting a screen shot instead.
We don’t really want Leon Skum to get any traffic, do we?
No… we don’t.
👍
@Tarnagh But that site still hits Twitter…
If you’re on Twitter, and you give them one view of thing by screenshotting it, and then posting it elsewhere they get ZERO residual views.
If you link back to Twitter in any way with any service, someone has to go retrieve that content, and Twitter counts that as a hit.
Oh. ☹️
@JKxZ Some folks will then yell at you for not linking your source. But I'm with you.
@TrueBloodNet So do both?
You are already there. Get the screen cap, post the link (if you really feel like you must)
… but maybe make the link not clickable?
I feel like there is a way to do this in the post, just cannot recall how to do it. I thought posts had some level of markdown support.
```text
https://www.google.com
```
@JKxZ I think I'm just going to screen cap. Then folks that want to yell at me can go search it themselves. I really agree w not linking the dead bird site. :)
I get bitched at almost every day on all my social media sites. I'm a big girl and can politely disagree. :)
@JKxZ links for video content may not work from the film source except Twit, so what to do about that?
@TheRealRebecca aren’t most videos just links to YouTube or Vimeo or another webpage?
@JKxZ yes, most are. For some reason, a video of MP Liz May was filmed on a unique platform I wasn't able to copy the link from, except for the Twit link.
@JKxZ "VEED.IO"
@JKxZ
That's why I use nitter.net - it redirects from Twitter so you can still read tweets w/o directing traffic to that platform.
Free app in Chrome.
Doesn't work with phones though, I think. :(
