@JKMooney I've found that if I set up an event on a tool that isn't facebook, it helps filter out people who refuse to function anywhere but on facebook. This typically results in people who are present for the event, as opposed to on their phones. That might have just been my circle of acquaintances, though. Your mileage may vary. Sometimes, applying friction to a process actually improves the process. That was hard to learn when doing app design. I normally focused on making everything easier.

@JKMooney you might not have the luxury of doing this, but I just quit the site and told people they would have to find some other way to let me know about events if they wanted my participation. If it's important enough to them, they do it.
@JKMooney I miss the reconnection with colleagues. I don't miss the political aspect or seeing people's dinners.
