It’s a religion, a belief system (as opposed to honest inquiry and critical assessment)…a cult.
@CinnamonGirlE I worked with a guy some years back that was always talking about how we needed smaller government. A real "Libertarian". So I told him that if he really wanted to be free of evil government, maybe he should consider moving to Somalia, where there was no functional government. Have fun cutting deals with the warloards. He got very quiet and didn't bring it up again.

My son was telling me that one of his coworkers out and out told him this week what we need is a Christian National nation. They are saying the quiet parts out loud now. It is really terrifying.
