Mel being adjacent to the Epstein/Ghislaine (and therefore Trump/Casablancas modeling circles) crew? Or the Einstein visa, which she did get.
Search for "Casablancas/Trump" turns up this NYT article about Zampolli who was friendly with the above then-notorious NYC duo. Zampolli claims to be the one who intro'd Mel to Don John, as well as securing her H-1B.
2 years after the NYT piece, WaPo with “Questions linger about how Melania Trump, a Slovenian model, scored ‘the Einstein visa’”:
