Heh, smartass.
The way I look at is — peeps (and @Bix especially) are lucky that my whole damn list ain’t nothing but FZ.
🙄🙄😏
BTW — you don’t have that one, right?

Bix Fact:
I love the herky-jerky of 1984's The Big Express.

Naw, this Beach Boys/Beefheart ripoff —

Wake up, I love the whole CD.

Eh, that one and “Mummer” are a mixed bag. Poor Andy was still having issues, even Gordon (and Gordon’s manager) knew that.

I love both of them. They are not a Skylarking or Milton's Paradise Lost masterpiece, but I love my new wave era bounce.
@InUnfunky @Bix @JoyfullyDazed “Don Henley and the Wailers?”
I've been surprised you haven't had more Frank on your list.
No, I don't have that one. But I have this one...
😛
That single still blows my mind. 🔥
And how boring and predictable would I be with a bunch of FZ albums on said list? Mix it up!
No more splinters, please. 😎
I might get more splinters. After my trip, I'm tearing the basement and other storage places apart to find my other albums, (yep, I still haven't found them 😭).
I know you have an interest in many musicians and bands, so I didn't really expect you to post only FZ. 😎
Universe and socmed be praised that we Zappa fans can find each other -- yourself and @Mfieck and I count myself as very lucky to have you two to chat with about such...and not just about FZ, either! 😎
It's like a religion or cult minus the irritating proselytizing! And that way you don't bore the piss out of everyone else.
The basement sitch still confuses me -- I'm sure you checked the attic, garage, etc. I forget what IRL Hubs said when you asked him...
FZ, (among other things), is why we had to remain friends after the divorce. 😉😎❤️
Hubs said he wasn't sure where they were or why they wouldn't be with FZ and the others we found. I didn't check the attic bc I know nothing is up there - it's hard to get to, so we've only been up there once or twice. I have a few very large closets that are used for storage. We haven't gone through them yet...they hold a lot of stuff we haven't seen in years so, *fingers crossed*.
These are the lps you've had since kid years, yes? Do you recall the number of records?
I did the dumbass thing (shocking, I know) when cds hit the market and traded ALL of my records, minus a few that got misfiled with mom/stepdad's small collection.
It wasn't until '94 that I started buying records again -- cuz a new roomie brought his player with him. Then I kicked myself for getting rid of my vinyl...
Yes, including The Partridge Family, all the way up to high school and a little beyond, when I started buying cassettes. It's not an enormous amount of albums, but it's not a few either.
I would've kicked myself, too, if I got rid of my vinyl.
Awesome.
Trading the records in for store credit wasn't a shame cuz of the $ and/or like I had some hard-to-find valuable stuff. More like a big lesson in tech evolution/market fashion fads...and then replacing a number of albums all over again. That said, most of the new ones are remasters and huge improvements in sound.
Like you, it was by no means a gargantuan collection -- still isn't. And I still purge every now and then for room and store credit. 😆
And no, there will be no more Zappa albums on the aforementioned list.
