Mark Robinson, R candidate for NC Governor, wrote the following:

"Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back. I would certainly buy a few."

I think in a general way this well represents the R theory of social change. Anything, they think, that makes society more unequal is to be endorsed, because that means more privileges for them.

It never occurs to them that they might be the ones to be enslaved.

@DavidSalo It never occurs to them they might be the ones enslaved -- or that slavery would be bad no matter who was enslaved. That what happens to one of us happens to all of us.
