Seems like there are enough people here now to put the PSA out that just because you hate racism doesn't mean you aren't racist.
This is DEI 101, folks.
I say this, lovingly, as a white cis-het guy who accidentally trips over my own racist-wired brain all the time.
I hate it so much I want to crush it and I'm going to call it out when I see it in others. If you see me tripping on my racist-wired brain please let me know.
@philipcardella It's subtle, and so ingrained in our culture.
You see white teenagers being loud and irritating on the train, and you think "<sigh> Teenagers."
You see black teenagers being loud and irritating on the train, and you think "<sigh> Black kids."
You automatically attribute the second one to race, when it's the same behavior in both cases.
