Finishing up day 5 in the hospital supporting my wife following spine surgery. Sleeping in a recliner built for people shorter than me is getting old! Hopefully she gets into rehab tomorrow and I can go home and shower!

#Introduction Guess I should say something. I'm a research chemist, near retirement, been lurking hither and yon for years, but don't post much. As the profile says, interested in everything, expert in little. Major interests - when I have time - reading (history, fiction, SciFi, most anything). History, genealogy. Nature, birding. Music: most everything except country, and hip hop - favor classical, electronic, rock (60's to present, if *good*). Liberal - not quite flaming, glowing perhaps?
