I was told today that Taiwan produces like 95% of microchips in the whole world and should a war break out with China, we're fucked as a civilization?
How accurate is that?

My understanding is that China won’t be prepared to invade for at least two more years.
Living in this age of uncertainty, anything could happen between now and then so any prediction, projection or pontification about what could happen in two years time doesn’t carry much weight for me, and most of the population of Taiwan are even less concerned.
