HiPOD: Dark Craters
This image caught something interesting. Most of the surface is smooth regolith peppered with small craters. However, some of the craters are notably dark compared with everything else in the image.

Looks almost like they are significantly deeper that the surrounding craters. Much like a bullet hole rather than a rock spatting into some mud.
Could it be that some very hard, very small but relatively slow meteors hit there? Like a metallic impactor broke apart as it got dragged in to the gravity well, so, it came in like a shotgun blast?
@AndersonArtwork These all likely do not come from a single source, but are all (geologically) recent because they are so small. As the full caption notes, it could be a case of just exposing darker material once excavated that has not faded away. Yet.
