HiPOD 29 Aug 2022: A Tale of Two Strata

The material to the east and west sides of this image exhibit different patterns of erosion. To the west (left), there is thin layering of fairly uniform thickness that is perhaps laterally discontinuous. Is this fluvial sediment, wind-blown sediment or something else? This scene is in western Lucus Planum and is part of a region called the Medusae Fossae Formation.
