Still can't wrap my brain around school starting at the beginning of August. The beginning of Sept, after Labor Day, yes. August, no.
@IrelandTorin Albuquerque. Some started last week, and Albuquerque Public Schools started today. 😳
@HealingHobbit Oh, that's weird. Looks like the school year is shifted by a month, and longer, compared to what it was like when I was growing up (different country though fwiw).
When I was growing up, the school year ended in (IIRC) mid-June, then started up again in the 1st or 2nd week of September.

@HealingHobbit @IrelandTorin Agreed it was their attempt at "year round schooling" given test scores I'm going to say that failed.
@HealingHobbit yeah. But its so 1st semester (and testing!) ends before winter break.
