I just got bombarded by 10 different recruiters for the same Product Mgmt position in security (major telecom co). They are requiring a Masters in IT, 10 years experience and offering a salary that's about 60% of what I make. No way will they find anyone to take this job (it's in the DC area and I was paying my Sr Product Managers what they are offering back in 2005 for non-security products).

Indeed, and a pretty clear sign 'they' do not understand the position they are trying to fill. That could/would lead to problems in the future for whomever takes the bait.

I suspect someone who values the job title over pay might say yes. I've been in an interview where I finally had to ask why someone one with those qualifications would want the job.

@Dane I actually interviewed with the same company for a Director level position 4 years ago. They made an offer that was also less than what I was making and wouldn't go up, so I didn't take the job.

@H3athers @Dane

I'm going to guess it's an H1B visa troll position?

They need to say that they "tried" to fill the position at their standard rate in order to fulfill the requirements of the H1B process...

@InvaderGzim @Dane I doubt it. This is to work on Federal contracts that often don't allow non-US citizens because they may require clearance
