In honor of today's historic splashdown: Mercury 7 & John Glenn (Credit: Time). I remember going to see Mercury 7 in DC when I was 5. Back then, you could still climb in & sit for a minute. That life changing moment has stuck w/me...as well as an overwhelming question - How did Glenn fit in there????? I was a tiny 5 year old & I was squished. Thank you to everyone associated w/the space program since its inception. ❤
