My first Iris of the season. There will be lots more! I picked one and brought it in this morning. I only do that when they have fallen. I just love seeing everything bloom outdoors.

I’ve been told money plant is an invasive, but I love it. When we first moved here 30 some years ago, there was not a single flower on this property. My aunt gave me some money plant seeds and they have thrived. I can’t get a good picture of them on our hill, but they cover it in the spring. They are a biennial, so I’m glad they spread so I have them every year.

Good morning, CoSo friends. Still watching the bluebirds today and enjoying all the new growth in my yard. Trillium, Solomon Seal, the Columbine is just starting to bloom, and my Swamp Milkweed has made its appearance. Spring has sprung!

Yesterday’s eclipse was amazing. We watched from our driveway. No crowds. I wasn’t able to get any decent photos with my phone, but got one during the totality that included a planet. Jupiter??
My solar lights came on! That was a fun surprise.
Side note. Planets and eclipse didn’t align right to help Purdue. U Conn played their butts off and beat them.

Good people of CoSo?

This is just a loving reminder that your brains have not evolved to cope with the stimuli of online environments.

It does you no good to be immersed in images of destruction or harm, particularly if you are not in a position to help.

Stay informed, but take breaks. Look at the sky. Attend to local concerns where you CAN make a difference.

It doesn’t help the world or you if you are chronically destabilized by online content.

This tells you how much of a hoosier I am. Cross Word clue was "Spring search item." 9 letters.
Mushrooms, right?
Nah. It was Easteregg.

Books I read in March. Little Women was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. This time I had to force myself to finish it. And I wondered if I just ignored the vocabulary as a kid. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have known the meaning of many of the words used back then. Deacon King Kong was great. Liked it better than The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store. The Thursday Murder Club books are so much fun. I enjoyed The Martian. Lots of science, but had to respect Mark Watney. Genius.

Another thing Hoosiers are fond of besides basketball, is mushroom hunting. There are festivals that auction them off for hundreds of dollars. I found these little tykes in my yard. That’s as far as I will go to hunt, but some people scour the woods with their special mushroom hunting sticks.
These little guys are hardly worth frying up. Maybe I’ll add them to some scrambled eggs.

Just received an email from Colin Allred... recent local poll show him tied with Ted Cruz.
Polls are not predictable IMO, but let's hope he will give Cruz, and corrupt Texas GOP, a scare.
Ken Paxton is working hard to quash mail in and early voting.

Let's do this Texas.
