Here's an interesting resource!

Get Educated, in the Resource Center of UC Davis. Among other things, it has a glossary, and a page on How to be an Ally.

I'm cisgender ("straight"), and in my mid-50s. As such, it can be difficult to keep up with the developing terminology, etiquette, etc. of our friends.

For anyone who wants to be an ally, it's important to educate ourselves. Forget what you think you know, because you don't. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@ATXJane
My pleasure! I figured if I'm looking for answers, so are a lot of other people.

@p3R1n01D @ATXJane Don't forget if you have questions, there's a bunch of us who are willing to answer!

I do spend a fair amount of time helping folksโ€™ psychoeducation & normalizing their understandings. Itโ€™s gratifying to see eyes & hearts open.
So TYVM for the opportunity to dialogue.
As I maintain, we are all a part of our great human family. The more heart connected we are, the better. ๐Ÿ’œ

@ATXJane @p3R1n01D When I ran a support group in the early 90s, the majority of our meetings were divided into two groups: Educating the trans person and Providing ways for them to educate others.

It-is- gratifying to see eyes and hearts open. And to also know that, in turn, can open the hearts, minds, and eyes of others.
