It’s important to remember that many of us are doing the best we can to make things better.
We cannot continue to assume our personal experiences are the standard for everyone.
We should listen more and speak less when those who are different from us are telling their stories.

@Godfly encountering folks who don’t realize that people are different. Some folks have a substantial amount of privilege others do not have

I like the sound of what you're doing. I taught science stuff in a community college for quite a while. I'm a big believer in "spreading the word", but without over-simplifying things, as is often done in popular science communication.
