When someone with lots of ailments and no quality of life has been saying for 6 years they just want to die (on the daily-multiple times a day) is it time to adhere to their wishes and ask for hospice????
@Gierchak … cont’d … “Hospice, or just palliative care for comfort, can help. Guide to details: https://www.nextstepincare.org/Caregiver_Home/Hospice”
@Gierchak … cont’d … “Eldercarelocator.gov can give the Area Agency on Aging in your area. AAA can help figure out best ways to safely get care, or go into a good facility.”
@Gierchak (Spouse’s professional experience is in NJ, each state has differences of course; but was trying to be generally helpful; just ask if you want more info, ok)
@mtxrlx thank you for all the info, will look at it this evening
@Gierchak From my spouse who has professional experience in geriatric social work and care: “Feeling helpless (you and them) is real. Might be worth doing the 6 week wait, don’t have to use it when your name comes up. *Good* facility care can improve quality of life, check if state has listing of COVID cases by facility first.”
