Yikes. I just got my credit card bill for all my October/November political donations. It’s not pretty.

@evamarie I actually started a recurring donation to Biden way back. I've also been sending money regularly to other candidates. When I look at how much total I've actually contributed these last couple of years, I'm angry with myself for actually believing all that money was making a difference.

@MakerWerks @evamarie

Thank the stars, it isn't just me. I've talked myself out of going and looking, and doing the math, because I didn't want to know how much money I threw away. Then chastise myself for thinking my mere pittance would make any kind of difference. But I figured my mere pittance, plus somebody else's pittance, plus somebody else's... would make quite a haul of pittances. Well, the haul made no difference. In my state, PA, none of the people I voted for won. Not one of them.

@GeezerWench I live in Texas and am quite used to almost nobody I vote for ever winning @evamarie

@LnzyHou I was really taken with the culture, climate and the beauty of Asheville when we visited last year. I also realized there'd be no point to moving to a blue bubble in a deep red state, because I already have that living here in Austin. @GeezerWench @evamarie

@MakerWerks @GeezerWench @evamarie

Cannot tell you the difference of living in a blue state. The MAGAs hide for the most part in NJ.

There is very little discussion about politics. Most everyone feels the same way.

@LnzyHou @MakerWerks @evamarie I kinda wish it was like that here.

In a way, it is. Trumpmagastan. Everyone thinks you're a maga unless you say different.

I mostly don't talk to the neighbors. I smile and wave, and that's about it. Only idle chit-chat at the grocery store.

I wanted to hang out more at the senior center, but I did the math and probably a good 80% or so voted for orange. I just don't want to be surrounded by that many magas who want my trans son dead, my daughter subjugated.

@GeezerWench @MakerWerks @evamarie

In a convo yesterday, with our wonderful maintenance man, he admitted he voted trump-reluctantly. He also said he was a Marine.

We have a great relationship & I’m broken hearted a Marine voted for trump. I want to ask but can find no actual proof trump called fallen soldiers “suckers and losers”.

My lower self wants to demand an explanation.

My Buddha Nature knows he’s ashamed. So what’s to be gained by me causing a rift in our relationship?

I won’t.
