Just saw my first Christmas tree in someone's home on my evening walk. Pumpkins are still out in the front. It's a transitional time. Didn't expect it so soon. I have a feeling people are doing whatever it takes to feel better right now.

@elbutterfield in my neighborhood the Trump Vance 2024 folks had their Christmas Tree lit ON NOVEMBER 1ST. You're more generous than I am

@Annothername Oh dear, do you think it's a function of political belief? That would be an interesting study.

@elbutterfield somehow the whole over-glorification of Christmas is a thing we've been noticing the past several years. Please stop screaming, herald angels

@Annothername @elbutterfield

The 💰 spent on unneeded gifts is obscene.
No one in my life needs more stuff. No one.

Make wonderful memories instead.

@LnzyHou @Annothername @elbutterfield ❤️ That is so true, I haven't done christmas in well over 15 years. It just faded out over a few years once my daughter knew the truth about things.

@Tattoomonkey29 @LnzyHou @Annothername @elbutterfield Up until she died, my mother decorated for Xmas. She loved it. Not a bunch of lights on the house, more little geegaws and chotchkies inside the house.

She died September 6th,1995.

I still got a present from her that year. She'd pick up little things throughout the year.

@GeezerWench @Tattoomonkey29 @LnzyHou @Annothername There's a lot of love that can be expressed in those geegaws and chotchkies. Thanks for sharing your story.
