I wish I were kidding: I now believe Musk's goal is for Twitter to be Truth Social.
TS is failing for many reasons, but a primary one is that cultivating a user base is hard; takes a lot of time/ money.
A different strategy is to buy an already-existing user base and transform it.

@frankp and when everyone but the fascists and nazis leave twitter it will become twat social. It will fail too for the same reason TS did. Hate and vitriol only works if you have someone to throw it at. They will only have each other left to throw it at and that will get old fast. I say let them have it. People trying to get people to stay but most of us just can't be bothered to subject ourselves to that abuse. Don't feed the trolls and they go away. #TwitterDemise #Politics

@GamingGal @frankp I really notice the difference in atmosphere over the last week or two over there. It was always hostile in many places but it's out of control now. I don't dare comment on any rightwing politician's post because the number of rightwing trolls that come after me isn't worth it. I don't have the energy to block that many people! Too bad, because replying to those people gave me great satisfaction!
