I taught my sons to be careful around police. Not The Talk mothers of color have with their kids (could be deadly), but do not trust anything they say. Ever.

When you grow up in Detroit area, you learn.

@LnzyHou exactly. Their job is to put people in jail and they see it as "us against them". We are "them", being brown makes it a little worse here in Cali, but I being black is a whole different ballgame.

We elected the first black Sheriff of Buncombe County NC. His experience as Asheville cop & approach to cop retraining is amazing.
