@Mandypar I can’t get past the fact that one death is too much in France, 13 deaths (at traffic stops) are a grave problem, but we think the only response is to say it’s time for thoughts and prayers.

@Gambit_1 I guess it is a difference between systems, culture and acceptance of what you can or cannot change. Certainly, just thoughts and prayers aren't worth anything when it comes to each incident let alone the next time.

@Mandypar I’m an atheist, but I think it’s sad that the phrase “thoughts and prayers” has acquired a sense of helplessness and inaction. There are a ton of people that pray AND give their time, money, and efforts to help. It’s too bad they get upstaged by politicians who just don’t care.

@Gambit_1 tbh Some folks say that to me when they discover I have MS and am in a wheelchair but I've trained myself to just smile and thank them because I really can't be bothered to argue and if it helps them feel better then that is fine (I'm glad to help).
