I identify as an atheist and empiricist, but that doesn't mean I can't draw strength from the invocation of myth and lore!

I often comment about how Cybele and Inanna smile upon me or stare down upon something or someone, or visualize Maleficent or the Lady Jessica and consider how they might handle a situation. These... mythoi, I suppose, can give me confidence and inner strength even if I don't worship them or believe in their literal existence.

Atheist doesn't mean non-spiritual :)

@lenaoflune I love myth -- it's a way of communicating truth. What I hate about modern religion is its tendency toward literalism.

@FranklyCurious Agreed! Well, that and the tendency to just ignore those parts they don't like, and to be literal about translations that are objectively wrong, and... :P
