My special needs brother has been double vaxed and twice boosted, but today he tested positive for covid. We managed to avoid him getting it all this time. It is running rampant through his day program.
He’s currently in the ER. We live in a small, rural area. No doctor’s office open. The staff at the hospital have been wonderful, but he is miserable. Hoping to get fast acting meds. His lack of communication skills makes it hard to know how he feels, but he’s obviously feeling horrible.

@GrandmaJ oh no! I'm so sorry he's going through this. Hopefully he has a quick and full recovery.

@Foxthorn I hope so too. This is my worst nightmare. I’ve been so worried he might be hospitalized. I hope the meds kick in fast. He’s pretty miserable today.

@Foxthorn Thank you for asking. He’s pretty miserable. Fever, cough, body aches, the whole gamut. We are exceedingly lucky to have excellent carestaff who are willing to come in to care for him and work longer shifts. He doesn’t live with me. He lives alone but has 24 hour care. His carestaff are all angels.

@GrandmaJ Ugh poor guy. I hope he gets through the worst of it soon. It sucks to feel so miserable.

@Foxthorn It does and I feel so helpless not being there to care for him. The carestaff have had covid, though, and we all agree I shouldn’t get exposed unless there’s no other choice.

@GrandmaJ I'm sorry it's been a couple of days since I've checked in. How is your brother doing??

@Foxthorn He’s doing better. Less coughing, no fever. Actually got up and got dressed today without being prompted!
