Wow! Very even. So you are doing a two ply with these? As a way of controlling the tension for spindle plying, I tend to favor making a plying ball.

@Helical_Code I have tried to build something akin to a tensioned lazy kate for plying. We will see how it does.
@Helical_Code I do have a modular spindle system that allows me to trade out whorls and shafts. However, the big storage rods spin, so I've literally just been taking the end of my yarn, connecting it to the rod, and spinning it off the spindle and onto the rod.

Oh my gosh! That's really something. So I've got to ask - do you have a spindle that somehow has a series of removable shafts? I'm trying to figure out how you are getting your singles onto the rods in the pic.
