Has anyone here taught themselves statistics? Do you have favorite resources?

@Helical_Code We used Ang and Tang's probability concepts (book 1) and decision, risk and reliability (book 2) for engineering statistics. I'm not sure if engineering statistics differs from other fields but we deal with a lot of natural phenomena (e.g., storms, earthquakes, floods, etc.). We also have to cover decisions made on the basis of risk analyses and evaluation of consequences of failure (i.e., how much do we have to pay you if we accidentally kill your family member).
