@disk4mat @NaomiSkarzinski I remember a time (pre-Reagan, gutting Fairness Doctrine) when most people occupied the center of “The Bell Curve.” Alt right media moguls (cough* Murdoch* et al) took advantage and made it their goal to manufacture discontent to pit the extremes against each other. Sadly, and tragically, this bell curve has inverted creating a chasm as a result. Until the FCC is re-empowered, and reinstates the fairness doctrine, the divide will continue. Corps benefit from conflict.

I think a lot of seniors still get their news from tv, not everyone is comfortable with online.
@disk4mat @FinnegansWhacked @NaomiSkarzinski But cable, not broadcast. FCC has no control.
@disk4mat @FinnegansWhacked @NaomiSkarzinski And you know that SiriusXM will say that they satisfy the fairness doctrine by having channels all over the political spectrum, but on any given channel it's highly polarized.
@FinnegansWhacked @disk4mat @NaomiSkarzinski I think the internet has killed any possibility of that ever making a difference. Hardly anyone gets their news/politics from broadcast TV/radio anymore.
