: It used to be that various holiday were for remembering, honoring, and reflection.
Now they're for buying expensive shit because it's "on sale", getting fucking hammered at Hooters or the local bar or at home by the BBQ, and being loud.
That, kids, is affluenza for some and "our time to shine" for millions of temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

There's a reason the cops keep cars ready across the street from them on weekend and holidays.
That said, Hooters was just one example of a location wherein shitfacery goes on and is encouraged and especially on holidays.
