Anyone else curious about the new "news" station coming online tonight? WGN America, supposedly broadcasting only news, not opinion...would that there was a way to stream it, but I haven't found one.
@annamousse Hmm-WGN is owned by Nexstar...there doesn't seem to be an affiliation w/Sinclair, but I'm still digging thru it...
@annamousse Looks like Sinclair Broadcasting group tried to buy Tribune Media, but the deal fell thru after some degree of backlash...
@FayreLylith nexctar sounds familiar. lemme' check locals here.
@annamousse Wikipedia had some useful info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attempted_acquisition_of_Tribune_Media_by_Sinclair_Broadcast_Group
@FayreLylith lol wiki anything not a source for me. thanks though.
@annamousse Was thinking of it more as a point to start from, but I understand. π
@FayreLylith oops, nexstar and holy hell - https://www.nexstar.tv/stations/
@FayreLylith ok, it is familiar. the nbc outlet in columbus ohio is one of theirs. they're fairly centrist.
it's not a new channel...WGNA is already a channel on most cable/satellite providers...it's just a new "show" on an existing station:
