I had a friend who was in an abusive relationship. It was horrible to see. I remember he was in jail & we had to wait for him to call her (from jail) at 10pm so he would think she was staying home. Then we would go out to the bars. (We were in our early 20’s). She stayed with him for many years despite all that. I think she is done with him now but she does have a daughter from him (thankfully the daughter is an adult now). We all advised her to dump him but she wouldn’t listen.
