The West must urgently overcome its fear of provoking Putin

The West appears paralyzed by its fear of Russian escalation.
Putin benefits from escalation dominance because the West has handed him this advantage.
Like it or not, the West is already involved in the current war and will inevitably face a far more immediate threat from Russia if Putin is not resoundingly defeated in Ukraine.
@peeppeepcircus @EvilBunny It's so frustrating. Time and time again people don't stand up to the bully even though in hindsight it was the clear play. We don't learn our lessons.
💯 - the minute the invasion started i thought of the WW2 invasion of Poland by Hitler. Appeasement did not work then either. We know our history, so we shouldn't be doomed to repeat it.
@peeppeepcircus @sentientmortal @EvilBunny A major part of this country's current issues stems from the fact that the 1% has systematically gutted our education system for 60 years. It appears that at least a third of America has forgotten the lessons of WW2....but it only appears so because you don't have to forget what you never learned.

& the quality of the education so poor, suppressed the teaching of how Nazis AND Soviets started #WW2 together with the invasion of #Poland.
Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact was a non-aggression pact between Nazi Germany & the Soviet Union that enabled those powers to partition Poland between them. The pact was signed in Moscow on 23 August 1939 by German Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop & Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov
