@WILDKATZ @researchbuzz Especially in "Skilled Nursing Facilities". My first job in nursing was as a CNA in a convalescent hospital. It was a real eye opener as regards lack of adequate staff thus wholly inadequate level of care. I was shocked (again it was only my 2nd job ever and 1st in nursing) to learn that they weren't hiring more people, naively had thought they'd lost a bunch of staff and were in the process of replacing them.

@WILDKATZ @researchbuzz The patient load and expectations for the care of those patients were a complete mismatch and after just 2 years I left for a position at a better rehab/convalescent facility. Most SNF's are deliberately understaffed and the levels of skill are often of little concern to those in charge of hiring because it's all about spending the least amount of $ possible. Am glad you were able to get compliance when advocating for your mom!
