Possibly a technical coup involving Wall Street.

Unless they had widespread ability to substitute the information being sent to the election commissions with different data, none of it was close enough to matter. It would be a huge undertaking, since everything is pretty decentralized, and the votes they would need to change would be in states that are most concerned about election interference.
