Yes...well... If only there were some person who was empowered to do something about it. Someone like, I dunno, a king or something who's literally the head of the C-of-E π€
He wouldn't even have to mutter, "Who will rid me of this troublesome priest?" like one of his ancestors did because a later ancestor wanted a divorce that the Pope wouldn't give him and took care of that troublesome wrinkle. π€·ββοΈ
@DyDave so sad that this continues w/o any repercussions. i'm not one for vigilante justice. but fuck, if no one will imprison these pedos, would you blame a parent? a victim? i wouldn't.
It's horrible.
We had a bloke here, the late Cardinal George Pell, who at the very least inarguably covered up lots of this evil and went to prison for it for a while before the case was overturned and he was promoted to the head of the RC church's finances and moved to the Vatican.
Two former 'conservative' PMs wrote him a character reference, and one of those has suggested that he be made a saint.
Charles could do something about this if he wanted to, but the fix is in.
I would bet any money that the Pope has heard confessions from priests who've done evil stuff and just shifted them around more than once in his ecclesiastical career. They don't think they're accountable to mortals, and the monarchy traditionally doesn't either π€·ββοΈ
