Sometimes I get phishing emails that just make me go:
Oh c'mon, guys! How about putting in a little effort?!?
Right? π
It's all very lame indeed, but the 'wifetracer' bit is like the cherry on top.
This can never be sophisticated enough to trick anyone who isn't a rube.
Even if it was somehow a perfect reproduction of an Amazon email, I'd just grab my iPhone and open the Amazon app, and that would settle things then and there.
Amazon never sends attachments, for another thing.
People need to view emails with a degree of skepticism, more generally.
Email is a medium designed in the 1970s and 80s to allow geeks to communicate with nerds, and we're still using the same basic protocols for it.
