I also couldn't relate to the idea that children loved rolling around in the mud and getting dirty. These days if I'm doing something that makes my hands dirty I need to wash them several times during the process.

t's very much a sensory /mental thing, I can't bear to let the discomfort build up. It's maddening rather than an actual physical discomfort like pain or pressure. Similar to shoes that are too tight.

@catmachine I can relate to all of this so very much... except the dying bit. I've never died my hair... mostly cos of a sensitive scalp, fine hair and a fear of it falling out. 😁

@Didymus I don't think I could bear to stop dyeing my hair. If forced to I'd have to shave it and move onto wigs.
