While we were waiting, it occurred to me that it’s nearly impossible to describe to other folks the wonder that CoSo has been for the last 4.5 years.

It’s especially hard to do this on Tw, when the culture and engagement patterns are so deeply entrenched in cynicism and shaped by performance feedback.

New arrivals, please know that this is intended to be DIFFERENT from Tw, with more actual engagement not juiced by algos or bots.

Keep an open mind and FEEL the difference.

Making the break from that Musky smell.

Two things are worth repeating:

1. CoSo isn't a #Resistance or even a political site. We're a community. Politics are discussed, but so too are coffee, guitars, cats, art, movies, cars, etc.

2. Even before our new members joined, we were 'slightly' left-leaning, but not tribal. Many of us have made some good friends on both/all sides of the aisles and usually agree to disagree.

"Why are all of my images getting rotated!?"

CoSo has a sanitizer that scrubs your images of ALL of their metadata. This protects you from accidentally sharing your location, but it's a little overzealous in that it also strips out image orientation on freshly snapped photos.

It's on the list of things to fix. For now, do a quick edit of your picture, save it, then upload that. Pepper's here to tell you it really works. #CoSoTips

OK, I’m noticing an immediate problem here. I spent so much time on Twitter doomscrolling that I’m not quite sure what to do on socials if not quote tweeting news articles with angry commentary.

This feels a little like going to social media detox. I kinda like it. 😂😂😂

Unmoderated spaces attract the worst of the worst, and most people won't choose a virtual space where they are surrounded by the worst of humanity.
