Dessert tonight was Chobani Greek yogurt, peach. Hit rather weirdly, acidic and off a bit. Didn’t really enjoy. I think next time I’ll have the berry.
@AskTheDevil took me awhile to be able to eat it, my system totally rebelled. It was ridiculous. I like the flavor though, generally. It has a bite. I’m not surprised it’s not Greek, most American foods are cheap knockoffs.
@Cryspeg I rather like the Fage brand yoghurt. We use that especially for cooking things like indian or greek food.
@AskTheDevil will look for it.
@Cryspeg We also use Stonyfield and Mountain high, but they're less, I dunno... Greek-ish? Good though.
@AskTheDevil never heard of either but will check it out.
@AskTheDevil @Cryspeg i used to love Stonyfield, when it was 100% Jersey cow milk... before it was sold to Dannon. Dannon switched everything to low/no-fat & bought the cheaper, lower fat Holstein milk (so even the whole milk yogurt is pretty blah now). Dannon put a lot of NH farmers in bankruptcy with that move.
my go to yogurt now is Cabot
@see_the_sus @Cryspeg I think it was a year or two before COVID, iirc?
I wonder how long they had been fraudulently selling it before people started to say something.
@Cryspeg I guess they won the lawsuit against them for selling cheap, regular American yogurt as traditional Greek yogurt.
