Why does the autonomy of other people offend some quite so much?
@CriticalCupcake Sometimes, they've even been convinced that they're actually saving us by taking away our right to make choices, or by chopping off any parts of our bodies or minds or behaviors that offend them.
@CriticalCupcake In my personal experience, I think people that force their beliefs or opinions on others in very aggressive manners usually have secrets and self hatred or shame. Most issues that people don’t obsess over are issues that don’t really affect them. Top issues like Roe vs. Wade might not deal with the issue itself alone, but all the other issues that can be opened with laws and protections that might be overturned stripping years of progress with human rights.
@CriticalCupcake They think that a different person making a different choice is them saying that _their_ choice is wrong and bad.
They're afraid other people will do scary things, and they seek to control them so they can't.
They have misgivings about their own place and beliefs, and they think they can prove they are right by silencing or oppressing those who challenge what they already know is wrong in their hearts.
They want all the power and don't want to share.
Different reasons.
