Former head of UN climate body (IPCC), Professor Bob Watson says we will fail to limit the global temperate increase to 1.5°C, exposing millions more people to devastating climate events.
Yeah, no country made the radical changes that would have allowed us to stay below that increase.
Even the most progressive, environmentally aware countries--but definitely not the U.S., China, India, and Russia--the biggest contributors to climate change.
And we still aren't.
@CriticalCupcake right now in the UK there are people and newspapers saying things like "I spoke to Dave who was just in Italy and said it wasn't that hot." and "it's summer! Have people forgotten it's supposed to be hot". Claiming the BBC are falsifying weather reports and that the rest of Europe wanders what the British press has got excited about. True "don't look up" stuff. 😞
