used to walk a tightrope, they didn't always get it right, but they used to at least try and stay on the wire.

With the dawning of the Muskian Era we have moved to the era where abuse is considered free speech, where threats are considered acceptable discourse.

Where violence against us is celebrated.

Where we are told we aren't being respectful of the people killing us.

Where the inciters are courted and the reporters are excluded.

Right now it's hard to see any future for Twitter, what is needed is carefully considered policies. What we have is the wild mood swings of an increasingly desperate man.

Twitter has two choices, it listens to the advertisers or it becomes another failed, far right, troll farm.

The advertisers are screaming that the numbers aren't working on Twitter now and the shift has only just started.

There is no middle ground.

But I'm a pragmatist, I have to believe it'll get to a point where @elonmusk will work out he does not have a clue what he's doing and either sell it or at the very least get someone rational in to make it work.

That being said I'm spending increasing time on Mastodon and Counter Social, so as you reach your own breaking point, make sure you're following me there. πŸ’–

But I do plan on staying until the very end, so make sure you're following me on Twitter too! 🀭

And as you migrate away from whatever is left of Twitter, add your own links so we can find you.

May the Muskian Era be short and not too painful.

@CriticalCupcake Good idea my bird app link: twitter.com/joesabin

@CriticalCupcake I hope you're right about Musk, but I have a feeling he's as self-defeatingly narcissistic as tfg. He'd rather drag the ship down w/ him than admit he needs to hire a captain to steer it.

@CriticalCupcake we were locked out a week before muck fired everyone. theres no one there to reinstate so we can evac. held hostage after almost 2 yrs of harassment by the pltfrm. we watched its incarnation from convos like this, to the slurry pit it became.

@CriticalCupcake "it'll get to a point where @elonmusk will work out he does not have a clue what he's doing"

I doubt it. Once the undeservedly overfinanced go down that Kim Jong Un road of insulating themselves from valid criticism they're stuck.

I think he'll happily keep making it into Truth Social ver.2 or (if Saudis say) just close up shop and force everything to the left of Reagan to find another outlet to organize.

Not listening to $$$$ in ad money makes this all seem VERY on-purpose.

@CriticalCupcake
If Musk ever got rid of all the bots you would see people really jumping ship. Twitter is being propped up by imaginary people.

@CriticalCupcake remember though - the House GOP claimed that the attack on the Capital was "appropriate political discourse"

@CriticalCupcake Staying and fighting back on the twit is the equivilant of staying to bail water on the Titanic. What he's done is more than sad.
Twitter is the fastest way for severe weather reporting to the NWS and to get reports in real time. (I'm a volunteer storm spotter.)
Today I'm deleting my account and the app, creating a new account, and only signing in through a secure browser when needed.
Since well before 1/6 I HAD to see what was going on there. Not anymore.

@CriticalCupcake I'm still on Twitter mainly to read specific content from a few people I follow. I rarely engage with anyone.

Last week I had enough of reading Elon's uneducated comments on my time line and blocked him 🀣.

Sometimes I wonder if his account is nothing more than a Tesla AI experiment 🀑 .

The reason I blocked him was he was prattling on about his pronouns being prosecute/Fauci πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

CounterSocial is the first Social Network Platform to take a zero-tolerance stance to hostile nations, bot accounts and trolls who are weaponizing OUR social media platforms and freedoms to engage in influence operations against us. And we're here to counter it.
