CoSo, I would happily whitelist this site in my adblocker if you gave me a way to get rid of all the flashing moving shit.

And if you are talking about the firehose, just scroll a little and it will stay where you put it.

Besides ostrich mode & stopping the feed roll, you can also unpin the firehose &/or friends column, if they're too much. Then just pin the stuff/ppl you want to see with # pins and list pins.
Plus, there are additional media options on the bottom of your preferences page that you might prefer to adjust so the experience is less overwhelming (see image).
