How's everyone feeling? Arizona was called for Kelly, and it looks very favorable for Cortez-Masto in Nevada since the outstanding votes should lean Democrat. If this holds, Democrats will hold the Senate, and the Georgia runoff will turn from do-or-die to a way for us to increase our majority. Plus, Republican hold on the House is still up in the air, and even if they get it it will be tenuous. The only bloodbath was with Trump and the election deniers. Good days.
@Committovote this gives me some hope, but I’m still disappointed that so many people voted for fascists
@EmeraldHufflepuff I feel you. The MAGA era has broken my illusion that Americans share a common frame for reality, and it has pointed out that a not-insignificant number of extremists live among us. It's frightening.
@Committovote it sure has brought out the worst in some people. I could never have fathomed the amount of hypocrisy, the level of mob mentality, the lust for power that entire swaths of our nation possess. The cognitive dissonance for so many in the GQP is astounding. The excuses they come up with to try to justify their blind devotion to a con man is mind-boggling. When I listen to one of them I’m constantly astonished at the level of willful ignorance & delusion!
@EmeraldHufflepuff I think it's an unfortunate feature of the human brain. We seem to be wired to create in-groups and out-groups, and for those in the in-group to demonize and hate those in the out-group. It happens in religion, politics and race relations.
@Committovote true enough. Nothing good has come from it to be sure!
@Committovote Starting to feel more optimistic! One thing is for certain, we have got to do something about voter suppression in places like Georgia, Florida, and Texas!
@Committovote feels pretty good to me! I’m going to bed happy. :)
