Pope Francis: U.S. presidential election a choice between ‘the lesser evil'
...
In their updated voters guide, the U.S. bishops state: “The threat of abortion remains our preeminent priority because it directly attacks our most vulnerable and voiceless brothers and sisters and destroys more than a million lives per year in our country alone.”
@Coctaanatis
The Catholic church doesn't believe in baptizing or blessing a fetus that has died due to miscarriages or complications. Because it never took it's first breath. So why are they now getting on the pro-life wagon? And why does the Vatican have their noses in our politics?
@KrystalWizard The Catholic Church has been leading the pro-life wagon since before Roe v. Wade. It is evangelical protestants who used to be neutral, but have become fanatically anti-abortion.
You may recall that in 1960 three American-born bishops in Puerto Rico issued a statement forbidding Catholics from voting for candidates who disagreed with the Church on abortion and birth control. This damaged JFK's campaign.
The church has always been involved in politics.
@Coctaanatis Agreed! Lesser of two evils? Seriously? Take a look in the mirror Pope Francis. Your hands aren't clean.
