Joe Manchin lives on a large houseboat called "Almost Heaven" in Washington, DC.
Now that Joe is leaving the Senate, will he or his boat leave Washington?
@Coctaanatis WV is landlocked
@MakerWerks West Virginia is connected to the Mississippi via the Ohio river. The Mississippi runs to the Gulf of Mexico. It'd be a trek, but it's doable.
Most likely Manchin would take the boat to Florida (or perhaps one of the Carolinas) if he moved with it from DC. Or he could find a home somewhere on the Chesapeake, perhaps on the Eastern Shore.
Many politicians prefer to stay in the DC area after leaving office. Others move to different states than those they represented in Congress.
@Coctaanatis: He'll stay to try his hand at lobbying for strip-miners, fossil fuel producers, industry that wants to have "less hassle" with enviro-regulations, etc., and he'll do it while trying to maintain his "Man of the Mountainfolk" image.
