@Catzly It shouldn't go on in any state, but armed protests gained momentum under Trump.

@Coctaanatis Thinking so much of this came about after the arms bill expired and it was allowed for gun manufacturers to sell AR-15 type weapons along with regular guns, pistols. It grew rather quickly since then. It's out of control today.

@Catzly The assault weapons ban expired in 2004. Other than an important ban on selling high capacity magazines, it was aimed at firearm appearance more than functionality. Production and sale of civilian AR-15 style rifles wasn't banned. Likewise, semiautomatic pistol sales continued. If anything, gun culture accelerated during the ban.

What has changed, largely due to changes on the Supreme Court, is the ability of states and localities to regulate firearms.
