Hashtag your stuff!
Hashtags are a kindness for a couple of reasons:
1. They let people easily follow topics of interest.
2. They let people FILTER topics they'd prefer not to see.
Note: It's not as important to hashtag your replies, because those are only seen by those who follow you. #CoSoTips
In addition to allowing others to follow or filter specific topics, hashtagging posts can help new members build a community with similar interests.
Hashtagging a post will make it searchable to members that don't follow you. Posts without hashtags can disappear in the slipstream of the Community Firehose.
I've found some great follows by pinning a couple of permanent columns with lists of my favorite search terms.
