Was only saying the other day that iTunes was the only thing I use to purchase movies legally these days. Well, Apple's only gone and deleted everyone's wishlists and phased-out iTunes on AppleTV.
The more digital services fuck with things the more compelled I am to ditch them and start buying physical media again.
@Agatha I have a NAS drive I'm thinking of expanding the storage on that and rethinking my use of cloud storage. Even email hosting services are messing customers around; since 2003 I had multiple email addresses with one mailbox, now I have to pay for each address separately and no more free mailbox with domains.
And too many hacks and "data breeches" and spam. I want more control over it all.

@Clavius_42 that’s why I am so glad I saved all of my CDs & vinyl. My 14yo niece’s entire gift wishlist was vinyl this year. DiL’s was too. The young ones know what’s up.
@Yarnchick I'm subscribed to lossless music streaming services for convenience but also still buying CDs and vinyl. Where I draw the line is stuff like yet another Pink Floyd remastered release.
@Clavius_42 right?! I’m trying to do free streaming for new stuff & make do with previously purchased discs. I need to make a cool setup for enjoying it, but man it takes up some space in my little house

I've had discussions with my husband about how we're reverting in a lot of ways. Blogging instead of posting to social media. Creators fleeing Etsy and setting up their own store fronts. We're going to set up our own cloud server & search tool, because we're over Google and the rest. We have smart phones (with VPN), but that's where we're drawing our line. No smart doorbell. No smart TVs. The constant privacy invasion is exhausting. Expansion and retraction.
